Summary
East Lindsey District Council are looking for a Housing Advice Officer based in Skegness on a fixed term basis for 18 months with possible extension.
We are looking for someone with a passion to help people who are homeless and in need of advice and support as well as somewhere suitable to live.
As an Officer, you would work as part of a team ensuring the service meets its statutory obligations. You would deal with a wide range of people including single people and families some of whom will be vulnerable or fleeing abuse and in need of support and access to other services. You will ensure occupiers of temporary accommodation are provided with support and assisted to move on in a timely manner.
Every day will be interesting and present different challenges and demands. The job is generally 9 to 5 and will require the officer to carry out interviews across the district. You would be required to be on call out of hours usually for a maximum of one week every month for which there is an on call fee.
You must have a sound knowledge of housing, homelessness and tenancy law and previous experience within a Homelessness section.
This is a full time post and will be based at Skegness however the Council is introducing agile working meaning the officer will also be able to work from other locations outside of the office
