We are offering an opportunity to come and work with us in the vibrant, diverse and multicultural University City of Newport. The City and Borough of Newport is situated on the M4 corridor and serves a population of approximately 156,000. Newport offers excellent transport links to Cardiff, Bristol and beyond.

We currently have full time & part time vacancies for enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join the Newport Health Visiting Team. We welcome applications from Registered Nurses & Midwives.





Our Teams consist of Health Visitors, Specialist Health Visitors, Community Support Nurses (Registered Nurses), Assistant Practitioners (Nursery Nurses) and administrators, we work with partner agencies to deliver an integrated early years service . We are supported with digitally enhanced systems and utilise the electronic birth book to collate data for Health Board and Welsh Government. And to also support caseload and community profiling. We have a dedicated communication and engagement team who provide up to date information to families via social media platforms, allowing us to share key Public Health messages to our wider population.

Supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Wales Programme to families and children living in Newport. Working with a team of health professionals providing health promotion and supportive interventions to meet individual client needs.

As part of the Health Visiting team, you can expect to be supported through;
• A preceptorship model whilst you settle into your role.
• A Health Board induction programme.
• Safeguarding Supervision.
• Enhanced Wellbeing support including monthly designated Wellbeing time and restorative supervision.
• Career development opportunities.

We currently have vacancies in the following areas / teams with leadership support embedded into each team;


• Newport North Team– covering Bettws Malpas & Caerleon• Newport East Team– covering Alway, Beechwood, Langstone, Llanwern, Liswerry, Maindee, Ringland, St Julians & Somerton
• Newport South Team– covering Pill & Stow Hill• Newport West Team- covering Allt-yr-yn, Bassaleg, Dyffryn, Gaer, Maesglas, Marshfield & Rogerstone.
