Summary

EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER

SALARY IS COMPETITIVE - BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS.

*FULL TIME EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER - 42.5 hours per week.
Working Monday - Friday, 8.5 hour daily shifts between 7.30am - 6.00pm.

We do not operate a Rota, your shift will be consistent to give you continuity.

*We are unable to offer term-time positions or offer school hours, due to nursery business operation times of 7.30am - 6.00pm, 51 weeks per year . We are closed on Bank Holidays and Christmas Week**

We have superb opportunity at the Nursery for a Full-time Early Years Practitioner. This position will be based at our Outstanding Nursery, Daisychain Day Nursery, Norton, Stourbridge.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who can bring unique skills and innovation to our Outstanding Nursery and who has experience of working within a team to provide the best learning opportunities for children from birth to 5 years.

You must be qualified to minimum Level 3 in Early Years Childcare (for eg. CACHE/ NNEB/ BTEC National Diploma/NVQ Childcare Level 3 or an equivalent recognised Childcare Qualification).

MAIN DUTIES*:
To play a key role in ensuring the delivery of outstanding provision and high quality care ensuring children in our care are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences that meet their individual needs.

Taking a shared responsibility for the welfare, learning and development of a designated group of children within the nursery, working with initiative and creativity to foster an environment which encourages children’s all round development.

To form part of the Nursery team and support colleagues to implement the daily nursery routines and to ensure the Safeguarding of all children by working to the organisations Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and procedures.

As a skilled practitioner your duties will include:-
· To comply with Nursery Policies and Procedures to ensure that the welfare requirements within the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework are met.
- Assist / lead in the Planning of an attractive and stimulating range of experiences and activities for children suitable to their age range and individual interests that develops both numeracy and language skills. Ensuring you provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
· Be a Key Worker carrying out all the necessary duties pertaining to the welfare of your group of children and their families. To work in partnership and build relationships with family members and provide an effective liaison on a day to day basis regarding welfare, learning and development of the children, SEND and other agencies.
· Observe each child and shape their learning experience to reflect your observations, reports and reflect on children's progression and learning outcomes.
· Ensure that the children are kept safe and that you have a strong understanding and knowledge of Safeguarding and Child protection procedures.
· Maintain accurate and effective children’s records.
· Work in partnership with family members and carers to provide an effective liaison on a day to day basis regarding the welfare, learning and development of the children.
· Research and learn about developments in childcare and education policy and practice.
· Work closely with the Management team to continuously improve the quality of childcare and education within the nursery as a whole.
· Ensure the nutritional needs of the children are met, specifically taking accountability for children with allergy or dietary requirements so that food control measures are maintained at all times. In addition, ensuring that Food Safety and Hygiene Standards are complied with.
· Demonstrate good practice with regards to SEND and Inclusion and work in partnership with EY advisors, SENCO’s and other health professionals as appropriate.
