Summary


An exciting opportunity to join the General Medical team at Dorset County Hospital, working alongside the Foundation doctors and experienced Trust Grade Central Doctors. The role will provide the candidate to access weekly in house training, as well as, gaining valuable experience working a variety of on call shifts.



The Candidate will be working a full shift work pattern and out of hours shift work is shared equally between other F1 team. The Foundation Year 1 team have an equal share of out of hours/on call shifts, supporting the take and wards out of hours. These shifts are supervised by the central doctors and registrars on call.

Initially the post holder will join the Stroke and Care of the Elderly teams. Both of these teams are well supported by consultant and senior registrar teams.

Consultant Supervisors - Dr Harald Proeschel, Dr James Richards, Dr Clare Sixsmith.

Specialist & Speciality Doctors - Dr Elizabeth Jones, Dr Pam Miceli, Dr Midhun Paul .

The post holder will work under the immediate supervision of the F2, ST1 or ST2 with regular ward rounds by the Registrar and/or Consultants. There will be the opportunity to attend F1 teaching on Thursday afternoons, these are based in the Education Centre. There are opportunities for audits and research as well as teaching medical students.
