Summary

A Vacancy at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

This role is ideal for a pharmacist with an interest in both Aseptics and clinical work, as it involves working in both the Aseptic Services Department and across several specialist and tertiary referral services.

Based at Salford Care Organisation you will join the clinical pharmacy team rotating through a variety of clinical areas including surgery, general medicine and tertiary specialities.

You will also be an integral member of the Aseptics team, where you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of the quality management system and provide professional supervision of work whilst working in the MHRA licensed facility.

Progression from Band 6 to Band 7 will be considered and is dependent on the candidate completing the first year of their clinical diploma and completion of in house aseptic competencies and portfolio.

In this post you will spend 50% of your time providing clinical pharmacy services and 50% of your time in aseptic services. You will have a key role in providing the link between the two, ensuring services are appropriately delivered.

Whilst working in aseptic services you will be involved in the day to day running of the aseptic department including product development, product release and quality assurance. You will also work alongside the Aseptic Services Manager and Production Manager to implement service developments and manage the Quality Management System. You will be involved in the supply of various Aseptically prepared products throughout the trust including chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition, CIVA and clinical trials.

Whilst working in clinical pharmacy services you will work with a team of pharmacists to deliver clinical pharmacy services at ward level across several services. You will also work with the other pharmacists in the department to support the dispensary. This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills working with a team of highly specialist and nationally recognised pharmacy experts.

Participation in the aseptic on-call rota is an essential part of this role.
