Summary

Purpose of the role:

To assist with managing the UK tax team with reporting for external reporting purposes, UK corporation tax compliance and the group's other day-to-day corporation tax requirements, while ensuring we maintain a good relationship with HMRC. What you'll be doing:

• Managing accurate and timely filing of tax returns for all group UK companies, including liaising with the UK CT compliance outsourcing supplier.
• Managing UK group considerations such as JAR, GPA, CIR, POA, alongside the outsourcing supplier where relevant
• Management of accurate and timely tax disclosures for the statutory accounts of all group UK companies
• Managing tax queries from external auditors in respect of the entity statutory accounts
• Assisting with external group tax reporting under IFRS, including assisting with year end audit queries
• Assistance with other UK tax areas including cash tax forecasting, other ad-hoc UK corporation tax queries, tax claims and reliefs, and supporting with tax technical matters, and interpretation of new tax legislation
• Assistance with the group's SAO and risk management processes
• Assistance with implementation of corporation tax process and SAP/reporting improvements
• Business partnering with finance teams, managing allocated tax projects, while liaising with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely completion of the projects
• Assisting with managing, supporting and developing a remote team of tax junior(s)
• Reports to Head of Direct Tax
• Involved in development and support of direct tax team assistant
• Works closely with the other tax manager to ensure international tax matters are appropriately considered and disclosed in the UK tax returns
• Works closely with the wider tax team, and other internal stakeholders.

What we're looking for:

• Minimum 7 years experience in a UK focused corporation tax compliance and reporting role
• Qualified tax advisor, qualified accountant or equivalent
• Must have experience working in-house roles (as opposed to HMRC or Practice)
• Understanding of all Microsoft Office applications.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and eye for detail
• Good ability to build productive relationships with Finance teams

Preferable:

• Experience of SAP accounting systems
• Experience of Longview tax consolidation software
• Motivated and driven individual with a willingness to learn and "can do" attitude
• Team player and confidence to build productive relationships with Finance and business colleagues
• Able to juggle multiple tasks and re-act to changing requirements - highly organised
