KITCHEN ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will be involved in the process of manufacturing pies, which will include the making of pastry, processing of meat etc, and use of the machinery, which may be necessary during the process.
You may also be required to work on the hotplate which includes cooking mash, liquor and eels and to bake pies at times.
General cleaning is of great importance and it is expected that you shall be able to do this to a good standard. Cleaning duties may include the washing of the pie dishes, all utensils and machinery used in the kitchen, and the cleaning of the floor, walls, ceiling and the requirements of the cleaning schedule.
Food is transported to the shop area via a dumb waiter and you will be required to operate it showing due diligence to the safety of yourself & other members of staff.
Deliveries will come either through the shop or via the pavement chute, you will be required to unload them and store them in the appropriate areas as soon as is practicable.
6. At peak times the shop area may become very busy, you may be required to help clear tables and wash up dishes.
7. Refuse is collected 3 times a week and it is your duty to move it to the collection point for disposal.
8. Checking sell by dates and rotating stock.
