About the Job




As an Automation Project Engineer at Unipart you will use your technical expertise to deliver automation projects around
technologies like Autonomous Mobile Robots, Collaborative Robots, Automated Guided Vehicles, and Conveyors within Unipart
Logistics operations. You will also support work to develop business cases that drive value for both Unipart and its customers.
With an eye for detail, you will be driven and willing to challenge the norms to realise step change in processes or contractual
performance through automated solutions, and will be focused on data to inform decisions. You will have real tenacity and
resilience to help drive and deliver change within the business and its processes.

This job will give you the unique opportunity to work closely with our experienced professionals, contribute to the success of
cutting-edge automation solution deployments, and play a key role in shaping Unipart Logistics in becoming a technology lead
logistics partner.




As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:

* Drive and lead the Unipart Logistics Automation strategy into Unipart’s operations - including solutions like Automated Guided
Vehicles, Autonomous Mobile Robots, Conveyors, and Collaborative Robots to deliver increased value for our operations and
customers
* Solve problems at your level, overcoming barriers and roadblocks whilst progressing automation projects
* Use The Unipart Way philosophy, tools, and techniques to develop and implement automation solutions successfully
* Develop key relationships that drive value across key functions including IT, Procurement, Operations, Project/Program
Management, and Solutions Design
* Focus on standardisation - developing solutions and identifying technology that could be used at a network level
* Identify capability gaps and develop local training plans agreed with stakeholders for upskilling where required to help manage
and run automated solutions



About You

Essential

* Experience in automation project delivery within a manufacturing/logistics/warehouse environment
* Able to demonstrate where they have led or been part of a team delivering process improvement or significant process change
* Ability to proactively manage work load and develop own ideas into business proposals
* Collaborative working across business areas - ability to work, engage and build strong work relationships
* Able to demonstrate the use of and sound understanding of Lean methodologies and problem-solving expertise in business
environment
* Agility to work on a variety of projects at one time, sometimes with changing parameters
* Using data to inform and drive decisions

Desirable

* Experience in automation solutions such as: AMRs, AGVs, Cobots and automated packing systems
* Level 5+ Diploma or degree level education in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, business or relevant area
