In this Outreach Navigator opportunity in Birmingham, you will join a charity helping young people, between the ages of 16-25, gain access to temporary accommodation as a result of being homeless. The role will be supporting young people with a history of rough sleeping transition Into their own tenancy and provide long term tenancy support .
Key responsibilities
In this Outreach Navigator job, your responsibilities will include:
- Undertake detailed assessments of housing and support needs /risks for rough sleepers
- Ensure relevant background checks are complete to assess support plans
- Provide high quality homeless and housing options - ensuring expectations are managed
- Build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with external partners/agencies
- Safeguard young people and young adults as risk though appropriate escalation and reporting Incidents
- Actively encourage young people to move Into appropriate accommodation
Skills & experience of an Outreach Navigator.
- Proven track record of working In a outreach or similar positions - genuine passion to work with vulnerable rough sleepers
- Holds an enhanced DBS child and adult cleared - Issued In the last 12 months or on the update service
- Available to start asap
- Flexible to work over evenings / weekends when required
