Summary
As a Transport Planner based at our Liverpool Head Office and Distribution Centre, you'll play a pivotal role in optimising our transport schedule for timely store deliveries. With our company's continued growth, including the upcoming addition of our new North West Distribution Centre, this role will play vital part in our growth.
Your responsibilities include reviewing stock requirements, allocating resources, resolving scheduling issues, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You'll collaborate with teams across the business including our Warehouse Teams, communicate changes effectively, and continuously improve processes.
We're seeking someone with experience in FMCG transport operations, strong organisational skills, effective communication abilities, and a problem-solving mindset. Join us in driving the success of our FMCG transport operations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Package- £39,856 per annum
- 37.50 hours per week
- Any 5 out of 7 days

- Review and adjust daily store stock requirements and forecasts.
- Assess transport capacity for store delivery schedule.
- Plan and allocate transport resources using Paragon.
- Maintain and update route plans on Paragon for store changes.
- Manage driver information and availability on Microlise.
- Resolve transport scheduling issues.
- Update KPIs for transport performance reporting.
- Maintain knowledge on health & safety and transport regulations.
- Analyse efficiency and cost-effectiveness of transport schedules.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and escalate issues.
- Effectively manage the balance of service and cost, while maintaining legal compliance
- Good knowledge of Paragon Route Scheduling Packages and Microlise Vehicle Tracking System
- Legal compliance for transport operations, including WTD, EUT and transport legislation
- Experience of working in a 24/7 operation
- Proven track record of planning and forecasting
- Plan versus Actual analysis
- Maximisation of core fleet utilisation
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Transport Health and Safety Regulations
- Ability to navigate Word, Excel, Access database and documents
