Summary


We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Speech and Language Therapists interested in working with children to join our team in East Kent. The post can involve working with both an early years and a school years caseload.

The Children’s Therapies Team is an integrated therapies team providing Speech and Language Therapy, OccupationalTherapy, Physiotherapy, Specialist Nurse Advisors and Care Co-ordinators to children 0 – 19 years within KCHFT.

This vacancy is within the North Kent Team and you will be based in East Kent (Canterbury/Thanet).

The successful applicant will join our Children’s Therapies team and will be supported by our Speech and Language Team Leads and the network of Clinical Leads across Kent. you will be supported to provide, assessment and intervention to children and families within East Kent.

We work closely with colleagues from other health, education and social care teams to provide an integrated team aroundthe child approach.
The post is for 37.5 hours a week but part-time hours would be considered.

We are currently working both face to face from clinics, within the community and also remotely which can be worked from home.

To assess, plan and implement SLT interventions that support children with a range of speech, language and communication needs.

To deliver evidence-based SLT interventions for children that support them achieving their identified health outcomes.

To develop integrated care plans in partnership with the child, young person and / or family recommending and supporting interventions that are appropriate at a universal, targeted and specialist level.

To participate in clinical supervision and to work as part of an integrated team with Therapy Assistants, OTs, PTs, SLTs, Care Co-ordinators and Specialist Nurse Advisors offering support to colleagues as appropriate to knowledge and skills.

To actively work as a member of a multi disciplinary and multi-agency teams to provide high quality care to children and young people in line with our care pathways.

To manage a caseload of children that on a daily basis consisting of children and young people with complex needs.

Additional Working Pattern: Mon- Fri 7.5 hours/day within core hours 8-18:00.
