Summary

A Vacancy at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

The Community Group Practice Leader will support Maternity services across East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust by leading a team of community midwives.

As a team we are working hard to ensure we put women and families at the heart of everything we do. We are on an exciting improvement journey and can offer a rewarding, flexible and supportive role providing a full range of midwifery care in the community setting with opportunities for personal development.

We are on an improvement journey and we know that our staff are key to this progress. Our latest staff friends and family test tells us that we are making really big improvements on achieving ‘Great Place to Work’ – and we would welcome you to be a part of this. We have excellent training facilities including a state of the art simulation suite and we embrace Human Factors in all that we do. We offer multiple opportunities to expand on knowledge and practice including practice assessor courses, NIPE training courses and NLS training courses.

We are currently seeking a team leader to work in our Thanet Community Team within East Kent. The post holder will be expected to provide good leadership and directly line manage the team within their allocated community setting. To provide clinical expertise in a supportive capacity for their team and investigate any incidents in collaboration with the Community Matron. The post holder should be an advocate for change in order to lead and support the senior management team through the Maternity Improvement Programme.

We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five
hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference’. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
