In order to achieve our vision, we want to recruit the best talent and currently have opportunities on our band 6 physiotherapy general rotation.

We are a beacon for outstanding education and research and offer an excellent range of rotations and provide superb training and support. There are a number of Clinical Specialists working across teams, as well as Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners and a Consultant Physiotherapist in Critical Care.

Our rotations are 9 months in duration across Bristol and Weston sites, and we offer a wide range of experiences. This includes working in areas such as:
• Musculoskeletal Disorders
• Trauma & Orthopaedics
• General Medicine
• Respiratory Medicine
• Adult Cystic Fibrosis
• Home Ventilation Team
• Acute Older People’s Therapy (including specialist frailty and front door services)
• Surgery & Prehabilitation
• Cardiac Surgery
• Critical Care
• Haematology & Oncology

Band 6 rotational physiotherapy staff currently have access to acute stroke and stroke early supported discharge rotations. This will include rotations into:
• Regional Hyper-Acute & Acute Stroke Units at North Bristol Trust
• Regional specialist sub-acute stroke rehab units
• Specialist Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS)

As part of an integrated therapy service, you will report to a Band 7 Occupational Therapy and/or Physiotherapy team lead in your clinical area. In all areas you will be able to access senior Physiotherapy professional support and training and development opportunities. In turn you may also provide support and supervision to less experienced colleagues, non registered colleagues, and students.

We are looking for Physiotherapists who are keen to gain senior and specialist clinical experience as a Band 6 within a friendly, forward thinking, and supportive Adult Therapy Service. The successful candidate would be joining a large and dedicated integrated team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Technicians. You must be an effective team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.

Depending on the rotation area you will be working as part of a 5-, 6-, or 7-day service. Weekend working is typically a 1:4 frequency. As a rotational Physiotherapist you will also contribute to the Sunday working and evening on-call respiratory rota. Training will be provided. You will also work up to two bank holidays per year.

Rotational staff express preferences for their next rotation ahead of rotations being allocated. You will be based in either Bristol or Weston for each rotation. Travel expenses can be claimed when on rotation at Weston or in the community.
