Summary


We are currently looking for a Staff Nurse who is enthusiastic and highly motivated to join our friendly team.

The Urology Ward is a sixteen bedded ward. There is a team of twelve Consultants who operate Monday to Sunday. Emergency admissions are admitted to Urology Ward via Urology triage unit.

You will contribute to the smooth operational running of the unit,acting as a role model for junior team members and supporting the development and delivery of a high standard of specialist nursing care. You will work closely with the ward sister and other members of the unit's management team.

We are looking for motivated and caring nurses that thrive to work as a part of the team to provide high quality of care. There will be extensive in house training and links to Brookes University to continue study. We provide support to all staff members to support your development and orientation to the unit.

Works as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing evidence based nursing care to urology patients.

Ensure that care is assessed,planned,implemented & evaluated on an individualised basis, taking into account the needs of the patient.

Practices in accordance with NMC guidelines & Scope of Practice,Local,Directorate & Trust policy.

Administer medications safely according to NMC guidelines.

Support senior members of staff in the safe running of the unit.

Participates in clinical audits.

Contributes to the orientation, development & training needs of students & new staff.

Perform male catheterisation.

Maintain effective communication with family and relatives.

Assess & Recognise emergencies via urology triage, interpreting information & taking appropriate action , seeking support when required.
