Summary
The Yardperson is responsible for the smooth running of the Depot Yard. Ensuring an efficient operation, through high standards of housekeeping, customer communication and movement and maintenance of vehicles.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00-16:00
Essential duties and responsibilities
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to assist and then after an allotted training period perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Ensure the site is kept free of litter
• Check in Courtesy cars and check general condition, oil and water etc.
• Deal with Customer’s parking vehicles in the correct manner
• Oversee Health & Safety regulations and ensure safe working practices are adhered to
• Check the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the site and rectify where required
• Collection and delivery of customers vehicles
• Other duties as specified by the Depot Manager

To perform this role successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
• General knowledge of the Industry
• Experienced Class 1 HGV driver
• A general knowledge of maintenance practices
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Current Class 1 HGV driving licence
Ability to work within a team
Excellent organisation skills Ability to work within guidelines and to deadlines
Solution driven approach
Excellent written and oral communication skills Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety requirements
Ability to work under pressure Excellent customer service skills
