Summary


Clinical Support Worker (Senior Healthcare Assistant)

*Band 3 - banding subject to job evaluation

Part time hours – Flexible hours – Nights (PCH), Twilights (HH), Weekend days and Bank Holiday Days (PCH/HH)

Cross site (shifts likely to be across PCH and HH during the same working week)

3 x 30 hour posts

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of exceptional, clinically competent and capable individuals who will join forces with the existing Hospital @ Night Senior Healthcare Assistants who cover the PCH site. As part of a newly formed team, you will help shape the way care is delivered on nights, weekends and bank holidays across all NWAFT sites. You will be up for a challenge, and enjoy being close to patients and staff across all wards and clinical departments.

The new Hospital at Night and Hospital out-of-hours team comprises of Clinical Site Matrons/Night Matrons, Clinical Site Practitioners (PCH) and Clinical Support Workers/Senior HCA’s. You will work collaboratively with the Site Operations Team, Critical Care Outreach Team and the medical and support teams working across our two main Hospital sites – Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals to improve and enhance the care we give to our patients using streamlined processes and digital technology to support workload allocation. Flexibility to work cross-site is an essential requirement for any candidate although initially roles will work more on the Hinchingbrooke site in order to establish the new service here.

Clinical Support Workers will work under the direction of a senior registered practitioner, supporting the wider Hospital at Night team to deliver care the patients. You will be very comfortable working in different wards and departments using your full range of clinical skills which will include venepuncture, intravenous cannulation, recording 12-Lead ECGs, ketone testing, undertaking clinical observations in addition to other measures to support clinical flow such as supporting admissions, transfers and fundamental care. Opportunities to explore other clinical (extended) skills are being worked up as part of the project
