THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group is delighted to be supporting Building Futures East, a charity that supports people living in some of the most disadvantaged communities in Newcastle Upon Tyne. They take a “people and place” based approach to their work, improving the quality of life and opportunity for individuals, whilst supporting fragile communities in building their social and economic resilience.

THE ROLE

- Manage a caseload to meet personal and team targets, including successful personal progression outcomes

- Providing mentoring, coaching and job search support, guiding participants on their personal development journey's in order to achieve the best possible outcomes which may include engagement with relevant support services, accessing welfare benefits systems, reducing social isolation and exploring job search and employment

- To maintain quality client records and obtain accurate documentation needed to evidence the participant's eligibility for the project

- To conduct assessments with all referred participants to assess the appropriate level of support required on their journey throughout their time on programme

- To work closely with the internal skills, careers and employability services team and relevant external statutory and community support services where appropriate to maximise participant benefit and onward progression

- Continuously track each participant journey in order to achieve all relevant contractual outcomes, ensuring all interventions are recorded as required on the relevant CRM systems

- Meet all standards for quality of service, safeguarding, information and data security, and any other contract requirements

- To promote and implement Building Futures East equality principles in all aspects of employment and service delivery in line with company procedures

- Adhere to health, safety and safeguarding principles, raising concerns as appropriate in conjunction with your role

- Other duties commensurate with the level and nature of the post


THE PERSON

To be considered for this role you must:

- Have a satisfactory outcome to an enhanced DBS check

- Be able to demonstrate recent experience of working with adults in a related field, ideally determining need and supporting customer choices

- Hold Five GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above

- Have the ability to build rapport quickly and adapt to client needs along with the communication skills to inspire, motivate and challenge where necessary

- Have a good working knowledge of employment, training and personal development opportunities that are available locally

- Possess excellent organisational skills which demonstrate the ability to manage a busy schedule / caseload under pressure

- Have the ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets; implementing contingency plans when necessary

- Demonstrate a high level of digital literacy skills; combining data accuracy and strong IT knowledge including Microsoft applications and web based technologies

- Willingness to take up relevant training

- Be flexible and adaptable with the ability to work in a fast changing environment

- Have an innovative and creative flair
