Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active pharmacist to become the Pharmacist Team Manager at the Cavell Centre in Peterborough. This is a great opportunity for an experienced manager or somebody looking to take the next step in their career to gain experience managing a team and taking responsibility for mental health and physical health clinical pharmacy services.

The friendly and dedicated pharmacy team work across the Trust to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines and this role is key in taking forward the medicines optimisation and pharmacy agenda within the Trust and wider system.

The job involves the management of the pharmacy team based at the Cavell Centre ensuring that a high-quality specialist clinical pharmacy service is delivered and includes participation in this service.

It also includes being responsible for proposing, initiating and implementing pharmacy service innovation and development within the Peterborough and Fenland area, and wider Trust, in line with national and Trust priorities.

You will also be a member of the pharmacy senior management team along with the Chief Pharmacist, Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Cambridge Pharmacist Team Manager and the Technician Team Manager ensuring that an equitable pharmacy service is achieved across the Trust.

• Manage the pharmacy team to ensure that the highest standards are achieved and maintained.
• Liaison with the Cambridge pharmacist team manager, under the guidance of the Chief Pharmacist, to share ideas and provide an equal standard of service across the Trust.
• Provide an expert clinical pharmacy service.
• Lead and co-ordinate the provision of education and training to pharmacists, other professions, service users and carers.
• Participate in a mental health pharmacist on call rota for the Trust.
• Be a member of the local clinical governance committee to ensure risk management and quality issues involving pharmacy are addressed.
• To dispense medicines, check finished products and provide annual leave or sickness cover for other team members if required.
• Assist the Chief Pharmacist in Trust wide pharmacy service development.
• Deputise for the Chief Pharmacist, in conjunction with the Cambridge team manager, in their absence.
• Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Chief Pharmacist.
