Summary


Head & Neck require a Band 6 RN/ODP Intravitreal Injector to work with the Ophthalmology Department at Peterborough City Hospital.

This is an exciting time to join us in the Head & Neck Unit.

We comprise of 3 main specialties; Oral Surgery/Maxillofacial, ENT & Ophthalmology.

It is an extremely busy area and we provide specialist services, clinics and Day Case Theatres across our floor.

You will be working as an Intravitreal Nurse Injector as part of the Medical Retina Service, within the Ophthalmology Department.

You will work clinically within the nursing team.

You will contribute to departmental developments to improve and enhance efficient utilisation of the service.

You will uphold Trust values at all times and be flexible in your approach.

We work in a cohesive manner and autonomously manage clinics and prioritise workload.

Specialist Knowledge and ophthalmic experience is essential.

There will be an initial training period and you will undertake a competency to fulfil this role.

• Demonstrate robust organisational skills.
• Work within the medical retina service to deliver nurse led injections.

• It is expected that you will inject for 4 sessions spread over 2 days, and eventually be autonomous in your clinics.

• Assist with the effective utilisation of resources.
• Participate in housekeeping duties to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness. Have an overview and understanding of stock control and the ordering needs of the service.
