Polytec are looking for an enthusiastic Buyer for our client based just outside Cambridge.
Responsibilities:
* Negotiate contracts, improve prices, terms of business and agreements with suppliers
* Quarterly supplier visits (mainly UK based)
* Run shortages reports to capture all order changes
* Consistent supplier contact to ensure efficient flow of product to match demand
* Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
* Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible
* Update the Sales Team with delivery schedules
* Update the Sales Boards with supply information
* Ensure Purchase Orders are sent and received by vendors
* Add order acknowledgement information to MRP system
Requirements:
* Experience with Vendor Management
* Competent with MS Office, particularly Excel
* Proven experience as a Buyer
* Strong administrative background
* Excellent communication skills
* Confident working with internal and external customers
