Summary


This post is available to either recently qualified practitioner psychologists who will be supported to develop into a band 8a role or to more experienced practitioners able to fulfil the senior role now. The senior role will include line management of others and more clinical leadership.

Little Brook hospital has three acute wards and a male PICU. Psychological practice within the hospital is a valued service. Psychologically informed care is becoming more mainstreamed through initiatives such as trauma informed and formulation driven care plans. Indirect work with staff teams is an important part of the role provided through e.g. team debriefs and reflective practice. Direct clinical work involves delivery of brief adapted evidence based psychological treatments through both group and individual work. An ability to work with families would be valuable.

The post is available as a full time (37.5 hrs) position. Part time applicants (minimum 3 days per week, 22.5 hrs) may also apply

For the band 7 position:
• To be responsible for the systematic provision of Specialist Psychological Services to clients with complex, severe and enduring mental health difficulties entering Acute services
• To undertake high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions in these services taking substantial professional responsibility and exercising autonomous judgement in their professional
• To be responsible for providing a specialist psychological perspective in the multi-disciplinary assessment of service users and their
• To contribute highly specialist psychological advice to the multi-disciplinary formulation of appropriate therapeutic approaches or intervention plans, and to be involved in, or oversee specialist psychological aspects of their implementation in collaboration with other
• To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service

As this post is based in Dartford the successful applicant will
receive an additional payment each month.

5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of
£1,192 per year and a maximum payment of £2,011 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly)
