About the Role:

Join our Asset Services team as an HGV Driver and Survey Technician at TRL Headquarters in Wokingham, Berkshire. Our team is dedicated to designing, undertaking, and analysing data from Infrastructure Asset surveys and investigations. With a particular emphasis on pavements and highways, our team are experienced in undertaking projects at all scales from traffic speed network level surveys to scheme level structural investigations.

This role offers a dynamic working environment on and off site, UK travel and will regular night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive fleet vehicles, including HGVs and other specialist vehicles, and assist the survey team in pavement surveys, prioritising safety protocols.
- Assist with vehicle and equipment maintenance across the fleet.
- Participate in pavement surveys and laboratory testing, following safety procedures rigorously.
- Maintain and care for all specialist equipment in various working environments.
- Understand and execute survey and laboratory methods accurately, adhering to precise processes.
- Calibrate and ensure accreditation of all equipment before conducting tests.

About You:
- A valid HGV licence is essential although if this is something you would be willing to work towards, we would still like to hear from you
- Demonstrated health and safety awareness or experience
- Understanding of road closures and various traffic management methods
- Proficiency in reading plans and statistical drawings
- Experience with risk assessments and method statements
- Experience in pavement sampling through coring, preferably with team supervision would be advantageous
- Knowledge and experience in data collection utilising a Deflectograph, GPR, Coring/Diamond drilling, Window Sampler for soil sampling, and conducting utilities surveys following PAS128 guidelines are desirable
- Proficiency in MS Office and general IT skills
- Certifications such as CSCS and NRSWA are a bonus
