Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Supervisor to provide support for the provision of an effective and safe decontamination service.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated applicant to work with our decontamination department at Sterile Services in Peterborough City Hospital.

Sterile Services is responsible for the complete decontamination of surgical instrument sets and flexible endoscopes used by the Clinicians across three sites. We also provide a service for a variation of external customers, making the service a vital one.

We continuously strive to ensure our patients receive the right care, first time, every time.

Therefore, we are looking for a experienced, confident and capable individual with a decontamination background. They will be responsible for providing support gained through previous decontamination experience to the decontamination assistants. and to ensure the delivery of a quality service on a day to day operational basis.

You must have a good standard of literacy and numeracy, good communication skills, well organised and able to work under pressure.

The ideal candidate will know their way around the decontamination of both flexible endoscopes and surgical equipment processed in SSD. The department is certified to ISO13485:2016 quality systems, and therefore, experience of internal auditing, knowledge and understanding of this standard would be advantageous.

This role involves manual handling, exposure to blood and bodily fluids, and working with chemicals and machinery. There is no involvement with patients.

The department is open Monday – Friday 06.00 – 19.15, Saturday & Bank Holidays 07.30 -15.30.

We have three shift patterns that the post holder will need be available to work:

1st Shift: 6am - 2pm

2nd Shift: 7.30am - 15.30pm

3rd Shift: 11.15am - 19.15pm

The candidate must ensure flexibility in their approach to cover shifts variations to meet the ever changing demands of the Service Users.
