Summary
We are currently searching for a Deputy Manager to join a new children's residential home run by the organisation, Heartful Care, which will be on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for any individual who is looking for a Deputy Manager role as you will be a part of creating a new, safe, and fun environment for children. You will have the responsibility of ensuring the health, well-being, and security of these service users, as well as showing leadership by providing supervision and support to staff members to promote best practice. As well as this, you will be working closely alongside the Registered Manager, assisting, and maintaining the workload, as well as prioritising the wellbeing of all service users.
What you'll need to succeed (the below are essentials):
- Obtained your Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
- Willing to complete your Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or an equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in the UK within the last 2 years in a residential setting, working with children and young people.
- At least 2 years' experience of supervising staff in a residential setting.
- Flexible with shift patterns
- Willing to work weekends and bank holidays.
- Driving Licence (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written to manage records, appraisals, and the supervision of the team.
- Able to effectively manage and lead a team to ensure best practice.
- An understanding of policies, procedures, and legislation to ensure the home is compliant with regulations.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Registered Manager to ensure the day-to-day running of the home is adequate and the needs of the service users are met at all times.
- Provide high quality care services to support all children and young people living in the home.
- Ensure all service users have individual care plans which have been carefully developed in order to meet their needs and to ensure person-centred care.
- Ensure the safeguarding, individual rights, and equality amongst the service users in order to create a safe environment.
- Supervise and provide guidance to all staff members to promote development and progression.
- Attend to any staff issues and alert the Manager.
- Assist the Manager with ensuring that all training is completed and up to date for all staff.
- Assist the Manager with the selection of recruitment.
