About the Service User:
I am a happy 10-year-old boy who is in year 5 at primary school. I have Autism, social communication difficulties and speech disorder. People describe me as a happy and loving child.I love love love dinosaurs! I also like trains, football, watching TV, playing outside and swimming. I live with my parents in St Neots.
Hours and Rate of Pay:
8½ hours of support per month. Hours to be arranged by mutual agreement. £12 per hour. The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)Enhanced DBS check will be required.
What you Would be Doing:
Taking me out and about to have fun, either on a day trip out, or playing football, learning a new skill such as tennis, going swimming, taking me to Costa. I can ride a bike, but I am not keen on it, so taking me to do things out of my comfort. Mainly getting out and about and being social.
The Person I Would Like:
Someone who has a kind and caring personality and patience is a must. You will enjoy being active and be willing to take part in activities with me. You will have a full, checkable driving licence and use of a car - a mileage allowance will be paid. You must have clear spoken English clearly as my speech delay makes it tricky for me to understand people sometimes. You should have experience of supporting/working with children with special needs.
