About the Team:

We manage the allocation of socially rented homes in Lambeth. We aim to provide as fast and efficient a service as possible to ensure homes are let as quickly and appropriately as possible. We liaise with the other teams who also have input into this work and ensure that we have a positive and proactive relationship with them. We are an experienced, friendly and helpful team and everybody works hard to ensure that there are no boundaries between each of the roles. The team is made up of two Business Support Officers, six Allocations and Verifications Officers and a Medical Adviser. There may be future opportunities to move into the Allocations and Verifications Officer role.

About the Role:

We need a proactive person, ready to engage with our applicants and to ensure that our administrative processes are dealt with thoroughly and quickly. You will need a good understanding of the Allocation Scheme and the proposed upcoming changes to it. You will also need to understand the Choice Based Lettings system so that you can help applicants. A methodical and thorough approach to dealing with day to day administration to keep applications up to date is essential.

You’ll need to enjoy communicating with all sorts of people and looking at their details carefully. Sometimes you’ll be delivering bad news, so you need to be both patient and empathetic but also assertive and resilient. You’ll be joining an experienced and friendly team and we’ll want you to be able to work successfully as part of it.
