What does a Support Worker do?

The role of a Support Worker revolves around helping the people we support live their lives as they choose and could involve:

  • Assisting with jobs around the house
  • Teaching and developing life skills
  • Encouraging the people we support to access the community
  • Accompanying on trips and leisure activities
  • Personal care
  • Taking an interest in the lives of the people we support

We are looking for people who have a genuine desire to help others and can work effectively as part of a team. It’s vital that you treat the people we support with the respect and dignity that they deserve, if you can marry this with a friendly nature you have all the key ingredients of a great Support Worker. Full UK driving licence preferred.

Please note this role will involve elements of evening, weekend and bank holiday work, sleep ins and waking nights - the successful applicant will be subject to a full DBS check the cost of which to be met by United Response.
