About the Role
UK Telecommunication Laboratory (UKTL)

The UK Telecoms Lab (UKTL), established in October 2022, aims to advance UK telecommunications by ensuring network security, accelerating 5G deployment, and fostering industry growth.

As a Technical Project Manager (TPM), you'll play a pivotal role in securing the UK's telecommunication infrastructure and driving innovative projects. Operating at the intersection of standards bodies, cybersecurity agencies, academia, and industry stakeholders, you'll lead the delivery of critical projects.

Based at our Midlands site near Birmingham, you'll collaborate with a team of over 30 telecom experts in a state-of-the-art facility.

Responsibilities:

Lead project delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Coordinate with suppliers, technical experts, and stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and technical challenges.
Manage project finances and reporting within our governance framework.

About You
We're seeking Technical Project Managers with a passion for telecommunications and a proven track record of project leadership.

Requirements:

Experience in hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
Proficiency in IT systems delivery, including storage, servers, networks, firewalls, and support services.
Knowledge of telecommunication systems and RF networks (4G, 5G).
Strong background in cybersecurity and risk management.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects with multiple stakeholders and manage change effectively.
Proficiency in MS Project and project management methodologies.
Ideally educated to a degree level in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
