Summary
We are looking for an experienced, qualified ophthalmic dispenser to run an in house spectacle dispensing service for the children's eye clinic and work alongside our award winning multi-disciplinary team of ophthalmologists, orthoptists, optometrists and administrators.
We see a broad spectrum of conditions and children of all ages which makes this dispensing role both a challenge and a rewarding post.
• To work as a skilled member of the children's eye team, to provide a high standard of spectacle dispensing to children of all ages with a large variety of eye conditions.
• The post holder will make a major contribution to the smooth, efficient running of the spectacle dispensing service.
• To be able to make decisions about the dispensing of optical appliances for children of all ages and abilities.
• To be able to maintain good relationships with children and their families
The Paediatric Eye Department is part of Evelina London. It consists of 3 consultants, 4 optometrists, 12 orthoptists and 3 school screening ophthalmic technicians. We are a busy tertiary referral centre and see paediatric patients Tuesdays to Fridays.
• To advise patients of appropriate lens forms and frames.
• To fit and adjust the chosen frame from stock.
• To provide a high standard of dispensing to children of all ages including those with complex dispensing needs
• To provide dispensing support to the department
• Providing dispensing advice to parents and children
