Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience working with Key Stage 1 students in a school setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Year 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to provide tailored support to students with SEND in Key Stage 1. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young learners and contribute to their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide one-on-one support to students with SEND, both in and out of the classroom.

- Assist the class teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.

- Collaborate with the SENDCO and other staff members to ensure the inclusion and progress of all students.

- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and respected.

- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENDCO as needed.

- Support students during group activities, guided reading sessions, and other classroom tasks.

- Assist with administrative duties related to SEND provision, such as maintaining records and preparing resources.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working with Key Stage 1 students with SEND, preferably in a school setting.

- A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional needs of children with SEND.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.

- Patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenges.

- Relevant qualifications or training in supporting students with SEND (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools).

- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo this process).
