Further information: A female PA with experience of working with young people who are autistic is needed to support a happy, chatty 9-year-old girl who is “always singing” living in the HU3 area of Hull. Your role will be to support the girl with engaging in various social activities within the local area and improving her life skills and development. These activities could include swimming lessons, going to the local park, or taking part in arts and crafts activities. You would need to be happy to go into the swimming pool with the girl whilst she is swimming and support her in the changing room.
You must be aware that the girl is “always on the go” and is very strong. You will also need to be very aware that she has no sense of danger and will often try to escape. To keep her safe, the girl is normally pushed in her wheelchair until she arrives at somewhere that is enclosed, where she can walk around safely.
