Cleaning Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide a high quality cleaning service throughout Poole Hospital whilst supervising a number of staff as well as carrying out their own cleaning duties





This Job Description is not exhaustive and other duties and responsibilities of a similar level and nature may be required from time to time.



MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULTS AREAS:

1.

To supervise and lead a team of cleaning staff dealing with various departments throughout the hospital.

2.

To take responsibility for ensuring that the highest cleaning standards are achieved and maintained at all times.

3.

To complete accurate daily records of operational hours and ensure all posts are covered during periods of annual leave and sickness.

4.



Carry out regular monitoring to ensure the cleaning standards are kept up to the required standards.

To participate in any training required to undertake the duties of the post

6.

To maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene in line with Mitie Hygiene Code of Practice.

7.

To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness throughout Poole Hospital in line with legislation & contractual requirements.

8.

To comply with the Company's Health and Safety strategy, policy and procedure and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for employees, visitors, patients and contractors.

9.

To undertake any other duties, consistent with the responsibilities of the post as directed by the management to ensure service provision.

Demonstrate a clear and effective alignment with the operational objectives and the commercial interests of Mitie

Must be flexible in working hours and able to change shifts when required for covering other Night Shift Supervisor

To assist in the induction, training and supervision of cleaning staff in all aspects of the contractual agreements with the client.





















RESOURCES:



People:

· Post holder may be accountable for training elements within the team.





COMMUNICATION:



· Post holder may be expected to deliver training in line with contractual requirements





AUTONOMY:

· The postholder will be expected to meet his/her line manager on a regular basis (at least monthly) to monitor progress on operational issues.





ENVIRONMENT:



Physical:

· Post holder will be required to work in a variety of environments.

· The role involves the use of display screen equipment





Health & Safety:The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and amendments state it is the responsibility of all employees to comply with Health and Safety Law. The post holder will be required to attend all statutory Health and Safety training.



The post holder is required to comply with the Company's Health & Safety strategy, policy and procedure to ensure a safe and healthy environment for staff members, visitors, patients, contractors and others. The post holder must comply with the designated levels of responsibility as detailed within the Mitie Health and Safety Plan.



No Smoking:

There is a policy of No Smoking in all Interserve/hospital premises. Smoking is only permissible in certain designated areas.



Location:

You may be required to work at other Interserve locations from time to time. Reasonable notice of any such changes will be provided.

Patient and/or staff information is confidential. It is a condition of employment that you will not use or disclose any confidential information obtained during the course of your duties.
