Summary


A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Band 6 Podiatrist to join our small community rheumatology team in the east of Dorset. This is an excellent chance for someone who has experience of specialist working in rheumatology/ musculo-skeletal to develop their skills further.

This is an exciting time to join a growing service providing a range of quality foot care services. The service primary focus is inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue diseases. There is a proactive approach to foot-related problems ranging from supporting self-management through to addressing the tissue viability and musculo-skeletal problems in these patient groups. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosing, planning and implementation of Podiatric Care to patients with inflammatory arthritis. They will also be responsible for new patient assessments and performing annual rheumatology foot assessment. The successful candidate would work across a range of community clinical settings with a wide range of complex patients as part of the rheumatology MDT .

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills both with your colleagues but also a real enthusiasm for working with this patient group.

The successful candidate would be encouraged to actively participate in service study days, regular clinical supervision and team meetings. You will be encouraged to develop your own areas of special interest/learning and to be proactive in service development. You will be given opportunities to be part of clinical research and audits

Will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care plans for rheumatological foot conditions in the community

Will collaborate with the rheumatology podiatrists in the hospital team and the wider rheumatology MDT

Will provide supervision of staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.

Will contribute to the development of departmental policies, guidelines, and scope of practice.

Will undertake clinical research, audits and reviews of practice and policies within the unit.
