Salary:
TBC – Dependent on experience
Working hours: 8.00am-4.00pm Monday – Friday, but flexibility is Key and Overtime when required.
This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave
Relationships:
Reports to: Technical Manager
Colleague team: QC Technicians, Product Innovations Technologist
Other internal contacts: Directors, various levels of management within the company, other members of staff within functional roles.
External contacts: Customers, suppliers, third party auditors, advisory and legislative bodies, and others as directed and required by the business.

Summary statement:
• To be responsible for the upkeep of all technical procedures, specifications, records and forms.
• To assist with NPD activities
• To assist the company with producing safe, legal, and quality products
• To assist test baking operations as and when required.
• To assist with customer visits to the factory, specifically with regard to QC systems, documentation, etc.
• To liaise with suppliers on technical matters, particularly raw materials, and their specifications.
• To develop auditing systems in line with customer and in-house requirements.
• To ensure that all QC records and documentation are accurate and kept up to date.
• To ensure that booked in raw materials are released from inspection in a timely manner ensuring that traceability is maintained.

Key Duties:
To maintain and update Company procedures. To maintain records of procedures and control issuing. To file out-dated documents as appropriate. To complete, maintain, and update internal and external specifications. To provide appropriate technical information of all products processed at Romix Foods and to keep up to date with the latest customer issues. To maintain a list of all products, allergenic status. To handle customer complaints in line with Romix Foods’ policy and to maintain and update the accidents database. To assist the NPD technologist in day to day product development activities

To assist with customer visits/audits to the factory. To liaise with suppliers on technical matters. To maintain and update the Approved Suppliers database. To produce monthly reports and trend analysis on complaints.
To liaise with other departments regarding appropriate technical matters.
Other duties (as required)
To make recommendations when appropriate to improve current working practices.
As required to enable the Company to meet and improve its objectives

Knowledge, skills and abilities
• Working knowledge of computers: Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) and company’s ERP system.
• Able to develop knowledge and personal expertise and proficiency in computerised system usage.
• Ability to maintain open working relationships with colleagues and to work well as a team member.
• Courtesy and tactfulness. Interfacing skills.
• Work efficiently under pressure.
• Organisation/analytical skills.
• Independent work skills.
• To be successful in this role you’ll have an excellent eye for detail, strong communication skills.

Other Characteristics:
Ability to assume progressively complex and independent duties as experience permits. Clean driver’s licence. Willing to work overtime occasionally. Wear clean, neat business-like attire.
