Summary

Technical Claims Handler (Subsidence) - South Wales / Hybrid - up to £30k per annum, flexi holidays, private health care, generous pension scheme, opportunity for progression with full support towards industry qualifications. 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

A fast paced, forward thinking specialist claims handling organisation who are passionate about people, have a big team spirit and want to provide the best customer service, are now looking for an experienced Subsidence/Buildings Claims Handler to join their growing and expanding Specialist Subsidence team, an exciting time to join. You will manage your own caseload of subsidence claims from cradle to grave where you will provide advice/guidance on claims issues arising from losses.

The key focus will be to lead and support customers through the potentially long claims process, which is highly technical and also includes interpreting subsidence reports with the support of a Subsidence Specialist. There is a dedicated induction programme with continuous training through coaching and buddying. A dedicated development programme is also offered which includes training and promotion opportunities.

Key responsibilities:
• Take ownership of your own caseload of subsidence claims
• Be part of a home-based UK team with the responsibility for your own portfolio of work
• Support the Subsidence Specialist by instructing site investigations, CCTV surveys, basic crack and/or level monitoring, arborist reports and specialist subsidence suppliers
• Interpret specialist reports, monitoring and tree works quotes
• Ensure your cases meet all required SLA's and the claims progress is efficient
• Handle all policy queries and ensure correct application of policy terms
• Handle complaints and ensure they are dealt with correctly
• Make assessments to establish the extent and value of domestic and commercial damage and repairs
• Provide support to Claims Managers and Administrators providing assistance with reviews of any subsidence correspondence including arborist reports, monitoring reports, site investigation reports, scope reviews, structural engineers reviews/queries, loss assessor scopes, tenders and project management
• Empathise and engage with the customer to ensure they are treated as an individual
• Remain customer focused at all times
• Utilising the latest technology available to execute the role, working with various systems and processes effectively and understanding how they operate and their benefits to the customers
• Provide a high level of technical, quality and customer service commitment

About you:
• Experience of technical property/buildings claims handling and complaints, particularly subsidence
• Construction knowledge related to repair of a wide range of buildings is advantageous
• Essential to have experience of subsidence
• A proven track record of exhibiting a professional personal approach when dealing with customers direct
• The ability to make decisions, plan and manage workload through to completion whilst communicating with multiple parties
• Be able to work under pressure handling high volume technical claims
• Exceptional IT skills and be able to work with various systems
• A recognised Insurance/Surveying Industry qualification or be working towards
