Summary
The Avenue Day Nursery are seeking a Nursery Cook to join our nursery family:
The role entails the following:
Working term time only, you will ensure that all meals are prepared in accordance with the weekly menus, catering for all children, and where appropriate provide alternatives to children with any special dietary needs and allergies,
To ensure that all food preparation and food handling complies with the safer food better business.
To safely transport all prepared food to individual nursery rooms and engage with the children when entering the room.
To maintain adequate levels of food stocks, which are to be stored in appropriate storage conditions.
Maintaining monthly records for stocktaking purposes of all food stuffs, to ensure the kitchen and all the equipment is kept clean and tidy and keep up to date with stock rotation.
Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are washed-up after each service and the kitchen is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Experience required
Good organisational skills and time management are essential to this role, food hygiene certificate and a enhanced DBS would be essential.
Ideally, have experience of dealing with food and guidelines surrounding allergies and dietary requirements.
Be a team player and have an excellent work attitude and previous experience of working in a nursery as a cook.
