Summary

This role presents a wonderful opportunity for a creative professional specialising in pastry and desserts to contribute to our high-end, premium restaurant dining offer - and accessible, relaxed all-day dining experiences in the bar and outdoor decks.



Job Description:

As the Patisserie Chef at Daffodil, you will be responsible for the creation, execution and presentation of our dessert menu. We are seeking someone with a passion for pastry, a flair for creativity and the ability to deliver high-quality, innovative dessert experiences. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a dedication to the craft of patisserie - working under Executive Chef Aiden Byrne.



Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain the dessert and pastry menu, incorporating seasonal and high-quality ingredients.

Prepare a wide range of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods to the highest standards.

Collaborate with the Head Chef and culinary team to pair desserts with the overall menu.

Manage inventory for the pastry section, including ordering and stock control.

Ensure cleanliness and organisation in the pastry kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.

Train and mentor junior pastry staff and apprentices.

Stay current with trends in pastry and dessert offerings and techniques.

Execute special dessert requests for private events and functions.

Maintain cost control measures for ingredients and supplies in the pastry department.



Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Patisserie Chef, Pastry Chef, or similar role in a reputable establishment.

Strong foundation in traditional and contemporary pastry techniques.

Creative thinking with the ability to develop new and exciting dessert concepts.

Exceptional attention to detail and presentation skills.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Formal culinary training in pastry and desserts is highly desirable.
