We are working with a primary school in Barking and Dagenham that is looking for a SEN TA to join their team in September 2023. You will be providing 1:1 support for a pupil in KS2 who has autism and ADHD. You will be responsible for helping the pupil to access the curriculum, develop their social skills, and manage their behaviour. You will also work closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and deliver personalised learning plans and interventions that suit the pupil's needs and abilities.
What you need to be successful in this role
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN, such as NVQ Level 3, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent
- Previous experience of working with children with SEN, preferably autism and ADHD, in a school setting
- A good understanding of the primary curriculum and the strategies to support pupils with SEN
- A positive and proactive attitude that shows initiative and flexibility
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
This is a full-time, long-term role that will last for the whole academic year. The hours are from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The pay rate is competitive, depending on your qualifications and experience.
