Summary

The successful candidate will help to develop and deliver a diverse and robust fundraising strategy to ensure the sustainability of Signpost and support its future growth. This is a senior role in a small organisation (the best place to be). The activity will include but not be limited to:

• Co-ordinate, monitor, develop and support all fundraising activities across the organisation
• Maintain oversight of all funding applications submitted on behalf of Signpost in terms of quality of output and staying on message.
• Engage with Signpost’s CRM and other systems.
• Research and develop fundraising performance measures
• Identify new funding sources for the organisation
• Write proposals and applications for funding Signpost’s work
• Develop and maintain relationships with funders
• Be part of developing services and projects in conjunction with front line management and secure funding for those activities.

An ability to fundraise is perhaps the most universally transferrable and in-demand skill across the global charity/NGO sector. The successful candidate will receive extensive support in developing any pre-existing skills which can be associated with the fundraising position. They will also be actively encouraged to bring their own ideas and creativity to the project in identifying potential new funding sources. The successful candidate will have the following Essential / Desirable attributes:
• Some experience in writing and submitting fundraising proposals.
• Experienced in the Business, Public and/or Voluntary sector
• A confident IT user
• An extremely well-organized and reliable person
• Possess sophisticated communication skills with the ability to understand and communicate both simple ideas and strategic concepts to a broad range of people.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Ability to meet tight and overlapping deadlines and prioritize own workload accordingly.
• Willingness to learn new skills and respond positively to feedback.
• Ability to conduct online research.
• Basic math skills.
• Flexible and dependable attitude and able to pick up and work with a variety of tasks and duties.
• Finally, the candidate would be driven, committed and able to work as part of a team as well as on his or her initiative.
• Preferably a Graduate.
