Summary
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Design & Quality to join the Guinness Team. This is a permanent, full-time vacancy which is to be based in our Oldham, London or Bristol offices. We are currently working to a hybrid working style, working 2 days per week in the office and 3 from home. As such, it is a requirement for candidates to be able to work 2 days per week from any of the locations mentioned above.
The overall purpose of the role is to Provide technical leadership and expert knowledge for the delivery of high quality developments from inception through to the end of defects period, ensuring a consistent approach throughout Guinness, with an additional focus on new technology and value for money. Provide technical expertise on projects which exhibit major defects or are subject to major disputes.

You'll be able to demonstrate:
Essential:
- Successful project management and technical expertise and experience.
- Excellent and demonstratable knowledge of Building Safety Regulations and compliance
- Excellent knowledge and experience of construction, construction technology and processes.
- Proven experience of managing external contractors and consultants.
- Proven experience of leading, managing and motivating teams.
- Knowledge and experience of successful project and programme planning, management and negotiation.
- Track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively with others in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.
- Demonstrates the Guinness Leadership and Management Standard.
Desirable:
- Experience of developing/ maintaining information databases.
- Experience of working in a housing environment.
- Knowledge of fund-raising via external sources and an innovative approach to fundraising and marketing.
- Proven experience of budget management.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Construction or Built Environment Degree (e.g. architecture or building surveying).
- Member of professional body e.g. MCIOB, RIBA, RICS
