Summary
To develop a service for women with a gynaecology cancer, in accordance with national standards, with reference to the recommendations in The National Cancer Standards and Improving Outcomes in Gynaecological Cancer document.
• Provide a dedicated role to develop and enhance the gynaecology cancer pathway. Ensuring that investigation, treatment, support and information for all patients with a gynaecological cancer reflect evidenced based and best practice.
• To develop and participate in the services required for cancer unit status, namely rapid assessment services for patients with pelvic masses or post-menopausal bleeding, through rapid access clinics.
• To participate in developing and supporting systems for data collection and audit, along with benchmarking.
Be present at diagnosis for all women diagnosed with gynaecological malignancy, acting as the keyworker for this stage of the journey and referring on to other keyworkers as appropriate.
• Participate in the Oncology review clinic and provide a nurse led oncology review clinic once trained.
• Assist in the development of the MDT and regularly participate in meetings to plan patient care management.
• Develop links with Cancer Centres to facilitate continuity of care for patients.
• Develop links with Gynaecology Outpatient Departments, Gynaecology Wards, along with Macmillan and community services, thereby acting as a focal point to disseminate information on cancer services and provide updates on patients’ plan of care.
• Identify and train a link worker to provide support for patients in the absence of the keyworker.
• Facilitate onward referrals to other specialities e.g. palliative, holistic therapies etc.
• To complete training to allow for requesting appropriate imaging according to the tumour pathway
• Monitoring of image and histology reporting to ensure an efficient progression through the pathway.
• You will be responsible for the delivery of personalised care including assessing patients suitability for PIFU

Developing and maintaining the Gynae-oncology pathway. Ensuring that Cancer care develops in accordance to need and is delivered in an evidence based, patient/family focused manner reflecting the principles of continuous improvement through audit of patient satisfaction survey and national guidance within a multidisciplinary team.
• Key participant of the Gynaecology Multi-disciplinary Team.
• Develop systems of communication with the Cancer Centre MDT and Nursing Team.
• Participate in the Trust’s Nursing Cancer Group. • Participate in the Local Cancer Network.
• Working in association with the Gynaecology multi-disciplinary team at the Trust, along with allied health professions, Pain Management Team, Macmillan Nursing Team and Clinical Governance within Family Health
• Develop and enhance links with cancer leads in Primary Care Trusts, along with Voluntary Agencies and Social Services.
