Summary


This is a senior role within the organisation to provide midwifery leadership to deliver the Transformation programme within the NHS Long Term Plan for electronic patient records.

In conjunction with the UHCW plans to implement a trust wide electronic patient record system this role will be instrumental to supporting the maternity team during this time.

The post holder will have the ability to establish good team relationships and collaboration within UHCW, third sector colleagues and local maternity systems.

They will be able to demonstrate leadership and be responsible for supporting the co-ordination and collation of data at UHCW supporting colleagues in the established digital midwifery team, maternity senior management team, IT department and external agencies where required.

The successful candidate will work towards the ambitions of the NHS Long term plan to evaluate the maternity IT system and its abilities to meet the recommendations here at UHCW. They will utilise a variety of information technology systems and databases to assist with data quality collation and audit processes. The role will include support with day-to-day management and supervision of the Maternity Information Team to ensure appropriate interpretation of clinical information allowing accurate and timely data transcription; and provide professional leadership including motivation of staff regarding the use of digital technology.

The role will involve reviewing, monitoring and developing processes and systems to support accurate and reliable data quality for internal and external assurance, local commissioning, and local, regional and national datasets.

• Coordinate and liaise with other departments to ensure the timely delivery and quality and reliability of maternity reporting.
• Ensure the relevant information is captured and maintained as a collaborative approach with the wider Multidisciplinary team to meet both National and local standards.
• Ensure and maintain confidentiality and integrity of all confidential information.
• Maintain competencies relating to digital leadership by attending regular updates such as local user group initiatives and the national Digital Midwives Expert Reference Group along with the Digital matron.
• Produce results and findings in a variety of formats, including reports, papers, spread sheets and presentations outlined by the Director of Midwifery
• Present results and findings to various teams, committees, forums and relevant groups.
• Utilise and interpret maternity information to compose clinical and management audits and reports.
• Make recommendations for change and action plans in response to IT and audit results.
• Report and escalate any issues or challenges that arise, which are outside of your scope of practice or remit.
