From your very first day of training with us, you’ll be gaining transferrable skills – skills that could set you up for life. You don’t need to know how to do the job before you get here, because we’ll give you all the training you need.
You’ll be paid while you earn your qualifications, and then you’ll join your chosen unit as a Private Soldier, earning around £20,000 a year. If you set your mind to it, you could even reach Junior Commander level within 5 years, earning around £30,000.
Everybody who joins the Army is first and foremost a soldier. But we need lots of different skills and, like all teams, we work by placing people in positions where they can make the best use of those skills. Ever thought about being a cyber engineer, port operator or recovery mechanic?
From combat roles to communications, there’s a place for everyone in the Army. We need people in:
• Combat
• Engineering
• HR, Finance & Support
• Intelligence, Communications & IT
• Medical
• Logistics & Support
• Music
You’ll be rewarded with 38 days’ paid leave every year, free dental care and cheaper living costs. That means more money in your pocket for the things that matter to you. And unless you're away on operations or training exercises, you'll normally work 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
You’ll even get free access to gyms and sports facilities, as well as dedicated time to play the sports you love – and some you’ve not even tried.
