Location & Travel
Delrow (Watford)
Situated just outside Watford, Delrow community combines both the rural and urban and is home to adults with a range of learning disabilities. The community is made up of a mixture of houses and flats. Delrow offers support with accommodation, ranging from independent flats to shared houses of between 3 and 10 people.
You may on occasions, and in necessary circumstances, be called upon to undertake work in other locations.

Duties & Responsibilities
Working as part of the PALS team at our Delrow Community (Watford), you will be providing a high-quality general repairs service in various properties and the wider repairs and servicing team as required.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Diagnose and undertake maintenance and repair work to achieve right first time and outstanding customer service.
2. Contribute to the financial viability of the responsive repairs service by ensuring all work is correctly recorded
3. Maintain an effective channel of communication with your Line Manager and management.
4. Adopt a flexible approach to work, undertaking and promoting work within a Multi Skilled environment to avoid duplication and follow-on work being passed to other front-line staff.
5. Responsible for your own health and safety and the safety of others as indicated in the company Health and Safety Policy. This will include complying with safe methods of work, use equipment safely, and contribute to risk assessments, use of PPE and reporting of incidents and accidents.
6. Contribute to the development of a core range of materials, consumables and individual stocks to meet the demand of the responsive maintenance service.
7. Adopt a flexible responsive maintenance service between the core working hours. You will be required to start and finish work at properties owned or managed by the Trust.
8. Provide a high level of customer service at all times, behaving in a respectful, courteous and polite manner to internal and external customers.
9. Work as part of the wider maintenance team to provide an effective and efficient service to the client.
10. Undertake development activities as necessary and appropriate to the role.
11. Undertake all duties in accordance with all Trust policies and work towards their continuing development and implementation.

Person specification
Knowledge & Experience
• Previous experience of working in a similar role
• Good working knowledge of general property maintenance
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and requirements
• An awareness of the needs of people who use our services

Competencies
• Effective communication skills
• Flexibility with regards to working unsociable and additional hours as necessary
• Flexibility to travel if required
• Ability to forward plan
• Be supportive of Camphill Village Trust values.


Qualifications and Licences
• Full, clean driving licence
• Satisfactory standard DBS check (we will complete this)

Key Employment Terms:
• Salary £29,000
• Location: Delrow (Watford)
• 25 days annual leave statutory plus bank holidays
• 45p per mile for all work journeys is provided (not including travel to the office).
• Sick pay entitlement after 1 month.
• Standard auto-enrolment pension scheme, with the option to contribute 10% of gross salary for a 6% contribution by the employer.
