About the service user
J is an 11 year old boy with complex learning disabilities.J enjoys roller skating, acting, drama as well as playing game consoles.J responds more positively to his male role models, in part because they are more inclined to be actively engaged in activities.
Hours and rate of Pay
£12 per hour casual hours up to 7 per month.Enhanced DBS clearance is requiredWhat you would be doingSupporting with independence skills, building relationships with others & peers. Helping to boost confidence in social situations & promoting communication skills.It is hoped that you will support J when attending clubs such as scouts and/or drama club.
The person I would like
You will have experience of supporting others with learning disabilities and have knowledge of the challenges learning disabilities can bring.Someone who is active and young at heart, willing to be interactive and involve themselves with activities, you will be encouraging to improve and develop skills.You will need to be reliable & committed in order to develop trust and understanding.You will also need to be a good communicator in order to set boundaries that are easy to follow.
