Summary


This post is for a Specialty Doctor in Dermatology. We wish to appoint a full time Specialty Doctor in Dermatology to commence as soon as possible.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Specialty Doctor to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Croydon University Hospital.

The successful candidate will be joining an enthusiastic, forward-thinking department compromising of 5 Consultants, GP Specialists, Pharmacy Prescriber. The appointment will be an essential member of the team.

The department offers excellent training and development opportunities and the post holder is expected to support the service demands.

The post will be based at Croydon Health Services and other work locations including off site working may be agreed in your Job Plan where appropriate.

Please note that job plans are subject to review by your Clinical Head of Service and Clinical Director.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To provide a high quality dermatology service and this includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department.
2. Responsible for out-patient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as agreed by Croydon Health Services

• Purley Hospital (please note the building is currently undergoing a £11 million refurbishment and the only service operating is the Urgent Care Service for minor injuries and illnesses)
• The Sickle Cell & Thalasaemia Centre in Thornton Heath
• Community bases at the Crystal Centre, Purley, Sanderstead, New Addington, Broad Green, Woodside and others throughout Croydon
• A Minor Injuries Unit at New Addington

The Trust was formed on 1st August 2010 through the integration of Croydon Community Health Services & Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust.

1. To provide a high quality dermatology service and this includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department.
2. Responsible for out-patient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as agreed by Croydon Health Services
3. To contribute to departmental research interests in accordance with the Trust’s R&D framework.
4. To contribute to the Audit Programme.
5. To take an active role in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of the Trusts Objectives. This
may include assisting with discussions regarding service plans and developments with both internal
and external agencies.
6. To conduct all activities within the contracted level of service and operating plan for the Department.
7. To work in conjunction with clinical and professional colleagues to ensure that the productivity of staff
