Summary

Are you passionate about leading quality and high performing services?

The Role
The Medical Lead is an important role within the service, providing leadership, coordination and delivery of the prescribing and clinical elements within this integrated substance use service.

You will be a registered doctor (Speciality or Consultant Psychiatrist) and will have experience in providing support to ensure that we are consistently offering a high quality, clinically excellent, recovery-focused service to people with problematic substance use.

You will provide medical and clinical leadership to the Via Kingston service staff, and clinical supervision to healthcare staff within the service. You will also provide clinical leadership and support to GPs and Pharmacies involved in the provision of treatment services to people who use substances within Kingston.

You will be an active part of the local management and leadership team and contribute to the overall performance of the service to ensure that contractual output targets are achieved. This role is also supported by Via’s central clinical department, for example to receive clinical supervision.

The Service
Via Kingston is a fully integrated adult substance use service, providing clinical and psychosocial interventions from a main treatment hub located within Surbiton Health Centre.

This service is an established Community Integrated service that is well performing and highly functioning. It is CQC registered to provide a range of clinical interventions including blood borne virus and other holistic health interventions, opioid substitute treatment, and community detoxification, alongside a comprehensive psychosocial, harm reduction and recovery focused model.

The team actively supports individuals that are directly and indirectly affected by substance use, working with the local community to improve the health, wellbeing and functioning of Kingston residents, irrespective of circumstance.

We have an exciting Medical Lead role for a suitably experienced prescriber to help us to provide specialist, tailored support, for some of the most vulnerable people within our community. This role will allow you to play a key role in developing the specialist substance use clinical treatment offer in Kingston, and become an integral part of the local leadership team.

Location
The successful candidate will work primarily from Surbiton Health Centre, however occasional travel to external meetings and to other Via locations may be required.

Please note, this is a full-time post, but we would consider part time/job share for the right person/people.

For an informal chat about the role please contact Yasir Abbasi, Executive Medical Director at yasir.abbasi@viaorg.uk

The closing date for applications is Friday 31 May 2024 at midnight.
