Summary


It is an exciting time to join the Women's Directorate and this role is pivotal for the organisation in driving forward the sustainable change needed to improve our service to patients in across all operational delivery points.

We are looking for enthusiastic, driven and resilient individuals who will relish the challenges ahead for the directorates and have previously managed and led services including staff, budgets, cultural and transformational change and performance measures.

The General Manager is part of the triumvirate responsible for the effective strategic and operational management of a defined set of Directorates and will work closely with the Clinical Director and Head of Nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient services within the resources available. The post-holder is responsible for the management of all non- clinical staff in the Directorates, ensuring staff are managed in line with the Trust’s employment policies.

It is essential that you can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of elective and emergency care & obstetrics whilst working alongside the complexities of the current economical climate.

You will be a highly motivated and experienced individual who has excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care enabled through being collaborative, systematic and rigorous in your approach.


• Responsible and accountable for the formulation of new service developments and initiatives, preparing bids and ensuring business cases are produced for services developments, taking into account activity and income projections and resource
• Work with colleagues to review and redesign services in order to meet the needs of patients and enable the Directorates to achieve key performance indicators and reduce
• Lead the planning of future capital developments for the Directorates to deliver improved facilities for patients in line with the Trust’s Strategic Outline Case, ensuring that capital developments are designed around the service.
• Develop robust mechanisms to ensure clear communication of service plans, objectives and service changes within the Directorates ensuring that staff are engaged directly in any review and the development of services.
