Summary


The role of the Team Secretary is to provide a comprehensive secretarial, administration and information service to the consultants, clinicians and managers in respect of their NHS work and to the supporting medical teams. The role comprises a wide range of specific duties and requires competence in word processing, keyboard skills, audio-typing, communication and organisational skills. Qualification to AMSPAR Medical Secretary Diploma level or equivalent is desirable, as are medical shorthand and transcription skills, along with knowledge and understanding of medical terminology. An ability to understand the need for and to maintain confidentiality is paramount.

This post is to support the Mental health in Schools team and therefore any annual leave must be taken in school holiday time.

An essential part of the role is the ability to manage and prioritise own workload without direct supervision. Part of this role entails agile working on a rota basis.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join the Mental Health in Schools secretarial team based within the ELCAS Department Burnley General Teaching Hospital.

You will possess excellent organisational, communication and keyboard skills and must be able to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative.
