Summary


The Audiology Clinical Site Manager will support the Operational Lead across the two main sites St Michaels Hospital , Cossham Hospital and their satellites and may be required to deputise for them in their absence.

A Band 7 Clinical Site Manager is a highly experienced clinician, with advanced clinical skills. They manage a significant caseload of complex patients, utilising advanced clinical reasoning strategies, treatment planning, and implementation of clinical standards within each pathway

Working closely with the Audiology Management Team the clinical site manager is responsible for assisting with operational management and leadership on a day to day basis. This includes, sanctioning leave, ensuring immediate cover for sickness, involvement in the recruitment process, contributing to staff training plans, supporting and monitoring staff performance and ensuring incidents are recorded and acted upon.

The clinical site manager is able to contribute to service development by being aware of the national and local agendas. They understand the demand and capacity within their sub-speciality and can report back to the Operation Lead/HOS on the team’s performance, ensuring standards are met and reviewed on a regular basis.
• To use advanced clinical reasoning skills and diagnostic assessments to provide an accurate diagnosis.
• To provide advanced clinical diagnostic assessment of patients with balance/tinnitus/hearing related problems using clinical reasoning strategies, and formulating and implementing appropriate and effective management packages according to national and local guidelines.
• To provide advanced rehabilitation for patients with balance/tinnitus/hearing problems using expert clinical reasoning strategies, and formulating and implementing appropriate and effective management packages according to national and local guidelines
• To demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, carers, colleagues and other multi-disciplinary team (MDT) professionals ensuring patients have a quality experience from the Audiology service.
• To gain consent with all patients and whenever possible ensure that valid informed consent is agreed with the complex or challenging patient caseload, working within the legal framework. This will involve fully explaining the outcome of assessment and assessing patients understanding of the options for treatment and rehabilitation proposed thereby reaching agreed treatment plans and goals.
• The post holder will undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and be responsible for their own patient caseload.
